Day out as a tourist

Back in Soton for just over a month for 4th year, just 2 years left till I am done! *Fingers crossed* that everything will go smoothly. This year feels just as hectic as last year even though I have been home most of the time for the past month. I guess my schedule for this year is just very spread out and kind of messy. Clearly some organising needs to be done.

On to the highlight of this post - Day out as a tourist. So, a friend of mine came down from KL to SG the week before I headed back to UK. She has been here a couple of times and probably visited most of the tourist spots. Hence, we decided to explore Gardens by the Bay. This is definitely not my first time there but my previous visits there were pretty short, so I technically have not explored much of the place.

The weather was really humid that day, with intermittent sun shine and cloudy weather. It beats going there on a day with pouring rain anyway.

trying out fashion/outfit shots

found a nice pathway to try out some more ootd shots!

Shooting outdoors is still the best, natural source of light

And so, we decided to pay $5 to walk on the OCBC skyway

You really do get a nice 360degree view

Took the lift up and opted to walk down the spiral staircase.

My verdict on the skyway: worth the money but if you are scared of heights, this might not be your thing. Imagine, the pavement you are walking on is not entirely opaque, there are holes and you can actually see through to the ground (exciting uh). We spent around an hour on top, taking lots of photos and enjoying the breeze because it is so much cooler up there compared to the ground. The pathway isn't very long but some parts are pretty narrow which explains why we are only allowed to proceed in one direction. Although many will end up going both ways and getting told off by the people in charge (like we did...hahaha).

Having only reached there by mid afternoon, we didn't get the chance to explore the rest of the gardens. I don't think I can even do an entire afternoon there given the extreme humidity. Dresses look more pretty and beautiful in photographs but with the weather, I think sports/dry fit attire would much more comfortable. Just saying.

Not a very exciting post but this was the only time I actually took my camera out throughout my 2 1/2 months being back at home. Most of the time I was busy with hospital attachments and weekends were just for sleeping in, really. Planning some trips this year and hopefully I will be able to share more interesting places next time!

Till then.
Ciao!
